Grand Theft Auto V is a 2013 action-adventure game published by Rockstar Games and developed by Rockstar North. It’s the first primary entry in the Grand Theft Auto series since Grand Theft Auto IV in 2008. The single-player story follows three protagonists: retired bank robber Michael De Santa, street gangster Franklin Clinton, and drug dealer and arms smuggler Trevor Philips.
They attempt to commit heists while under pressure from a corrupt government agency and powerful criminals in the fictional state of San Andreas, which is based on Southern California. The open-world design allows players to freely roam the open countryside of San Andreas and the fictional city of Los Santos, which is based in Los Angeles.
