In the town of Decimoputzu, a unique motorsport community has quietly built something special. What started as a few friends racing radio-controlled cars in a backyard has grown into the only active on-road asphalt track for RC modeling in all of Sardinia.
The club behind this success is Asd Tribe Model, founded in June 2007 by Renato Pisano, Efisio Maccioni, and Ignazio Bellu. Their shared passion for RC racing quickly attracted more enthusiasts who wanted a proper place to compete and improve their skills.

In the early days, races were held casually in a courtyard. But as interest grew, the group realized they needed a professional track that could support competitive events and advanced RC models.
The solution came in Via Nora, a location that once hosted the municipal agricultural market. Over time, the space transformed into a dedicated asphalt racing circuit for radio-controlled cars.
Today, the track stands as a major reference point for RC racing enthusiasts across Sardinia. The club has organized championships with up to 80 participants and has even competed in national-level events. That is a huge achievement for a community-built project that started with only three friends and a shared obsession with speed and precision.
RC racing may look like a simple pastime from the outside, but it combines engineering, strategy, mechanics, and driving skill. Every model requires tuning, maintenance, and careful control at high speeds. For many members, it becomes a true sport rather than just a weekend activity.
The atmosphere at Tribe Model also highlights something increasingly rare today: offline community building. Instead of competing through screens, members gather in person, exchange advice, test setups, and celebrate races together. It is basically Formula 1 energy, just scaled down to fit in your backpack.
Maintaining the only active on-road RC track in Sardinia for nearly two decades is no small accomplishment. The dedication of the founders and members has helped preserve a niche motorsport culture that continues to attract newcomers year after year.
Their story proves that passionate communities can create lasting impact, even when starting with limited resources. A few people with a shared vision turned an empty space into a regional hub for competition, friendship, and innovation.
For RC racing fans, Tribe Model is more than a club. It is proof that passion, consistency, and teamwork can build something that lasts for generations.
